The Natty Dresser​



Marisa took a sewing class at age 6, completing a drawstring bag for her first project. From there, she was hooked. She’s detail-oriented and likes the challenge of taking a garment that doesn't fit and making it look Natty. She lives in Albany with her husband Tim.


Her talent is finding creative solutions to challenging projects and she’s exceptionally skilled when it comes to bridal alterations. When she isn't sewing for The Natty Dresser, she enjoys spending time with her family & pets.

How to Get Started with Our Alterations and Tailoring Department


For your convenience we serve customers in Albany, Oregon and the outlying areas of Salem, Lebanon, Corvallis, Eugene, and Springfield.  (Sorry, we don't do cleaning).


All you need to do to get started is drop off your clean garment at the Natty Dresser during regular business hours. Our highly-trained alterations team will consult with you to discuss exactly what you need accomplished, take any necessary measurements, and provide you with an estimated completion date.


Most repairs and alterations can be completed in two weeks or less. All alterations are performed in house and will be ready to wear when you pick them up.

Meet Our Alterations Team


Our tailor and seamstresses partner together to bring Natty Dresser customers the very best in handiwork for your treasured clothing items.

Nancy has been sewing for many years, and comes to the Natty Dresser directly from working at The Rain Shedd. She has brought with her a great deal of knowledge about fabrics and is our in-house zipper and snap expert.


When not at work she loves to cook and spend time with family.

Tailoring & Alterations

Carolyn began sewing at the age of 5 under the tutelage of a master tailor — her grandmother. She has since worked in high-end retail shops such as The Bon Marché, Nordstrom, and various bridal shops on everything from basic alterations to hand-creating suits and wedding gowns.


During her career, she raised nine children. When Carolyn moved to the Albany area to be near her many grandchildren, fortune brought her to The Natty Dresser just as the shop was ready to open.
